Alfoxton House Holford

Entry section to Alfoxton House, Holford, home to the Wordsworths 1797-1798. The Holford glen needs to be photographed - Dorothy walked the Holford and Hodders Combes especially.  Wordsworth wrote 'The Reverie of Poor Susan' here so I should inspect further before returning to work.

  1. Can you tell me if a Samuel Clarke Jannise once owned or rented Alfoxton House. Relatives of my husband William Heale (a coachman) and Sophia Bowden (she a housemaid) lived there while in service. The house number is 254 Hendongate I believe hard to understand. This is from census 1871. Thanks in advance. Judith Harris
