The view from Robert Southey's study at Greta Hall. This was 'our' study while staying at Greta Hall. Southey described Coleridge thus: "All other men whom I have ever known are mere children to him, and yet all is palsied by a total want of moral strength!' Southey looked after his own wife and children, Mrs Coleridge and her children, and widow Mary Lovell here for many years.
